RockItt Jam Ragtime
Whilst RockItt Jam Ragtime carries the band's name and includes cameo performances by Wayne Kranium and Minty Clinch, the album is virtually a solo effort by Shag Fury. Containing just two tracks inspirationally called 'Side 1' and 'Side 2', the double-CD album contains over three hours of direct live studio recording of the band jamming free-form ragtime. The melodic syncopation of Fury's keyboard playing, punctuated by sliding baselines and cymbal rolls takes the listener on a musical journey of innovative brilliance. The album was recorded in just three days at Fury's personal 256 track digital studio in Spain. The boldness of the project was acknowledged at the outset and although it was poorly received by critics at its time of release, RockItt Jam Ragtime has since emerged as an off-beat cult classic. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
