Kelly the Co-Ed (soundtrack)
In the summer of 1996, RockItt bass guitarist Wayne Kranium was on holiday in the Seychelles coming to terms with the breakup of his second marriage. It was here that he met actress Allysin Chaynes. The pair became close friends and it was Chaynes who suggested that RockItt should write and perform the soundtrack for her latest movie, Kelly the Co-Ed. The band worked with Australian all-girl band Failing Grades on the music for the movie with vocalist Urethra Fagot singing on the three non-instrumental tracks. The distinctive Fury/Kranium style percolates through the soundtrack with complex rhythmic devices seamlessly interwoven with the action leading to a thrilling, pumping climax. Plans for the film to go on general release were shelved due to production problems and delays clearing the movie with censors and so the film was released straight to DVD. Sales of the soundtrack suffered accordingly and, with a limited number of pressings the album is something of a collectors item. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
