Minty Clinch - unmasked!?

RockItt drummer unveiled as man behind the mask in smash chocolate commercial

November 13, 2007 -- Supergroup RockItt today denied the shock revelation that drummer Minty Clinch is the man behind the monkey mask in the smash hit Cadbury commercial that has rocked the world of confectionary advertising.  Photographs released today appear to catch the RockItt drummer during a break from filming with his gorilla mask removed.

Web surfers have been going nuts for the 90 second clip, which was viewed almost 500,000 times on YouTube the week after its release and is part of a 6.2million advertising campaign.

Newspaper The Metro had claimed that the gorilla was little-known actor Garon Michael who starred as a primate in the movies Congo, Instinct and the remake of Planet Of The Apes but our photograph would seemingly expose Minty as the man in the hairy suit.

In the advertisement a man dressed as a gorilla plays along to the song 'In the Air Tonight' by Phil Collins.  The full version of the commercial is available from the Cadbury website.

Clinch was characteristically quiet when asked about his reasons for participating in the advertisement.  Bass guitarist Wayne Kranium was, however, able to shed some light: "Well, it beats him sitting around scratching his arse all day and eating bananas", he said.

Cadbury spokesman Tony Bilsborough said: "We have been amazed by the way the advert has captured the public's imagination."
