announced an aid package for flood victims “We’d like to send our best wishes to all of those affected by the
floods; it’s a truly tragic, errr, tragedy” said Shag Fury, keyboard player
with RockItt. To assist the aid effort, the legendary – in fact
almost mythical - band have announced that their entire back
catalogue will be available for just £9.99 per CD to flood victims.
Fury explains the move: “Those living in areas that may be susceptible to
flooding can purchase 100 or so RockItt CDs which can be used in an
emergency to raise furniture and other valuable items up off of the ground and
out of the way of damaging flood water. It’s our way of giving something
back”, Fury continued, “and the real beauty of it is that it doesn’t
matter which of the albums they use…” RockItt albums will be available via the Planet
Poppadom chain of Indian restaurants as well as all good record shops (and some
bad ones). To be eligible, fans will need to bring with them a soggy roll
of foul-smelling carpet to prove that they are flood victims.
